Open Chair isn’t just a salon rental space—it’s the evolution of a vision that started with ScissorCandy, a creative community for hairstylists founded by Joseph Berardi. With years of experience in the industry, Joseph recognized a growing need among independent stylists: the freedom to work on their own terms, without the limitations of traditional salon structures.
What began as a movement to bring stylists together through live events, education, and artistic collaboration has now taken shape as Open Chair—a flexible, professional workspace where hairstylists, barbers, and colorists can work independently while still being part of a thriving community.
You can rent a chair by the day or take advantage of weekly incentives, which include perks like a storage locker and insurance coverage. Daily renters must provide proof of insurance or purchase a coverage add-on for a small fee.
You can book directly through our online system. Simply choose your rental duration (daily or weekly), select your chair, and complete the booking process.
Each rental includes a professional styling chair, workstation, mirror, wash station access, and essential salon amenities. Weekly rentals also come with storage space and complimentary insurance coverage.
